Ayunda Lestari Dance Group was founded on
Andalan Awajar has since stopped its cultural activities in year 2000, thus giving the opportunity to Ayunda Lestari & Suria Mestika to be independent and standing on their own.
Ayunda Lestari & Suria Mestika worked together as a team and Ayunda girls were not only trained in Malay dance, but they were also trained to play dikir barat. Suria Mestika together with Ayunda girls combined to take part in the various dikir barat competitions.
Suria Mestika together Ayunda girls had managed to emerge as Champions in some of the competitions. Some of the awards won were, Johan Kumpulan Wanita Terbaik in Piala Pusingan Mohammad Maidin Packer (3) 2001 organized by Kampung Ubi CC, Johan (Women Category), Juara Terbaik, Karut Terbaik, Paluan Terbaik & Awok-awok Terbaik in Irama Dikir IV Extravaganza 2001 organized by Bukit Timah CC & Johan Kumpulan Wanita Terbaik in Piala Tan Cheng Bock 2002 organized by Ayer Rajah CC. Suria Mestika then stopped its Dikit Barat activities in 2002 and Ayunda was left on its own to continue its cultural journey.
Ayunda found her first venue of dance training at Kampung Chai Chee Community Club in January 2000. She started off with only 5 female dancers and all the dancers received their basic Malay Dance training from Sri Warisan – Som Said Performing Arts under the direction of
With the basic knowledge of the basic Malay Dance, Ayunda began, slowly building her way exploring into the arts scene. She began her first performance at Pulau Tekong Army Camp in January 2000 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Celebration and she began her first challenge in coordinating & choreographing a simple yet a good performance. It ended with a successful event and this success was contributed by the effort by all the dance members of the group.
She moved to Eunos Community Club in June 2001 and had the opportunity to perform at various events. Ayunda Lestari is now known as Ayunda Lestari Group of Cultural Arts due to the incorporation of a music group under her direction.
Currently the sub-groups under her direction is Alunan Dondang Irama Melayu (ADIM) Traditional Malay Music Ensemble - currently residing in Eunos CC.
Ayunda Lestari Group of Cultural Arts comprises of a Malay Traditional Dance Group (Ayunda Lestari) and a Malay Traditional Music Ensemble (Alunan Dondang Irama Melayu aka ADIM).
Ayunda Lestari Dance Group specialises in Traditional Malay Dance. Ayunda also catered to personalise performances - Bollywood, Chinese, Multi-Racial & Modern. Ayunda has been actively participating in various Dance Festivals organised by different dance groups and she has also taken part in National Arts event - Gentarasa 2005, 2006 & 2008.
Ayunda Lestari music team - Alunan Dondang Irama Melayu (ADIM) has been performing at numerous Malay wedding occassions, corporate events and festivals. Besides performing Malay Traditional Music, ADIM is also actively engaged to widening up their music potentials and able to perform other music genres like Jazz, Ethnic, and Dangdut. All these genres are performed in using the Malay Music Instruments.
